Privacy Checklist

5 Ways RescueTime is Watching Out for Your Privacy

  1. You can pause the RescueTime Data Collector at any time. Want some privacy? Just turn it off for a bit (there's a keyboard shortcut that defaults to ctrl-alt-L for PC and command-L for the Mac.
  2. You can delete any data that you see. Did you visit a jobs site at work? No problem. Just delete the data for that day or all visits to that site for the whole dang year.
  3. You can create a "WhiteList" of the sites that you want to track. RescueTime will send data about those sites, but any other site data will be sent as "Non-Whitelisted Web Sites".
  4. If you're a member of a group, no one can see your individual data. You're lumped into an aggregate pile of data. There's some safety in numbers!
  5. You can delete your account at any time. Seems extreme, but it's an option.
